Mariana Bouchan

Member, PrIMES Leadership

Mariana Bouchan is a sophomore at Duke University, pursuing a B.S. in Neuroscience and a minor in Global Health. She is the first in her family to pursue a career in medicine and is excited to be a part of the PrIMES leadership team, embodying excellence and inclusivity.

Aspiring to pursue a future in orthopedics or neurosurgery, Mariana is a part of the Duke Spine Navigators team, which aims to address disparities that spine surgery patients may face by directly engaging with patients and writing a systematic review. Mariana also helps to lead Adopt a Grandparent, an organization that bridges generational gaps while teaching undergraduates about medical ethics, aging, and hospice care. As a leader in Duke PorColombia and PrIMES, Mariana aims to support underrepresented minorities and increase representation in all medical specialties.
